The Administrative Services department is responsible for the functional areas of Information Technology (IT), Human Resources (HR), and Safety and Security.
IT is responsible for implementing and maintaining all computer hardware and software, infrastructure, telephone systems and components of the radio dispatch and ITS systems. The RTC is committed to embracing technology that will further enhance the effectiveness of the agency and improve its ability to serve the people of Washoe County.
HR is committed to recruiting qualified transportation professionals and fostering employee development at the agency.
Within its recruitment and selection functions, the Human Resources department is involved in all aspects of the hiring and selection process. These responsibilities include recruitment, job interviews, and reference and background checks. HR works to attract qualified staff and to conduct timely and responsive recruitments and candidate evaluations.
Human Resources also works with TMCC and UNR in the recruitment and development of a college intern program.
RTC Human Resources conducts extensive training and staff development functions to foster professional development among the staff.
Security and Safety is responsible for promoting and maintaining a secure and safe environment for passengers and employees by planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating security, safety and emergency operations.
