ARLINGTON AVENUE BRIDGES PROJECT – 1ST STREET TO ISLAND AVENUE
RTC Project Manager, Bryan Byrne, P.E. – (775) 335-1865- Arlington Avenue will close between West 1st Street and Island Avenue.
- Northbound traffic will be detoured to Virginia Street or Center Street.
- Southbound traffic and pedestrians will be detoured to the Sierra Street Bridge.
- West Street will be open to westbound traffic only between West Street and Stevenson Street.
- Wingfield Park will remain closed from May 5, 2025, until summer 2026.
- River recreation detours will also be in place.

ARROWCREEK PARKWAY & WEDGE PARKWAY REHABILITATION

Work on Wedge Parkway will continue through the week of November 10. During this time, paving operations will continue in the northbound lane. Work will continue on the Shared Use Path.
Arrowcreek Parkway
Work on Arrowcreek Parkway is substantially complete.
Wedge Parkway – Phase 3C Northbound Reconstruction (Mt Rose Highway to White Creek Lane)
- Wedge Parkway will have one-way traffic maintained in the southbound direction in the southbound lane.
- Access will be maintained to neighborhood streets; however, during the pulverizing and paving operations side street access directly off Wedge Parkway may be inaccessible for a duration of up to (1) hour.
- At least one entrance will remain accessible for neighborhoods and businesses with multiple access points.
- Construction will occur in phases for neighborhoods and businesses with single access points.
- Flagger controls will be in place. Follow business access signs for access to the Galena Junction (Raley’s) Shopping Center.
- Vehicles and pedestrians should follow posted detours; please use alternate routes such as Arrowcreek Parkway, Thomas Creek Road, and S. Virginia Street.
- Normal working hours are from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
- Work is scheduled to occur on Saturday, 11/01/25, weather permitting.
- Two-way traffic control with intermittent closures will be maintained
- Work is scheduled to occur on Saturday, 11/08/25, weather permitting
- Concrete improvements will be constructed in the northbound direction and paving operations will continue in the northbound direction.
- Phase 3C traffic control (one-way traffic in the southbound direction), will be maintained to complete this work.
- Work is scheduled to occur on Saturday, 11/01/25, weather permitting.
MILL STREET CAPACITY & SAFETY

Mill Street is restriped in a new temporary lane configuration from west of Kietzke Lane to I-580 and the speed limit is reduced to 30 mph. Drivers are asked to use caution through lane shifts and note changes to turn lanes at the Mill/Kietzke intersection. No on-street parking is allowed in this area. These temporary traffic conditions will be in place through 2025.Drivers will see single lane closures in the vicinity of Mill Street/Kietzke Lane.
Bus Stop Closures
RTC RIDE bus service may be temporarily impacted within the project area. Detours or changes to bus stop locations will be noted in advance at the affected bus stop and at https://rtcwashoe.com/alerts/In the event of a closure, riders should follow signage to the nearest bus stop of call RTC customer service at (775) 348-RIDE (348-7433) for real time information.

PYRAMID HIGHWAY OPERATIONS IMPROVEMENTS

To advance design of the Pyramid Highway Operations Improvements Project, a contractor will be on site to complete potholing activities in the NDOT right-of-way along Pyramid Highway from Ingenuity Avenue to Egyptian Drive, over the next 2 1/2 weeks.
- A minimum of one paved travel lane will be open in each direction. With the exception of a possible one-way configuration with flagger assistance when work is performed at the Calle de la Plata/Pyramid Highway intersection.
- Short traffic delays may occur
- Access will be maintained to adjacent properties
- Normal working hours are from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday – Friday provided all through lanes of traffic are unrestricted by potholing activity.
- normal working hours are from 9:00 p.m. – 5:30 a.m., Sunday night – Friday morning where traffic is restricted by potholing activities.
- No work is planned over the Thanksgiving Day holiday
- Vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists should follow posted detours and utilize alternate routes where available.
SPARKS BOULEVARD CAPACITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT – NORTH PHASE
RTC Project Manager, Garrett Rodgers, P.E. – (775) 332-2139Construction will continue through June 2027. Project limits are from intersection of Sparks Boulevard/I80 westbound ramps to the intersection of Sparks Boulevard/ Shadow Lane.

Construction operations will mostly take place from 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the northbound direction and 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the southbound direction, Monday through Friday. Nighttime work and marathon weekend work are anticipated, with traffic control updates communicated in advance of this work.

TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODIFICATIONS 25-01

Robb Drive / Seventh Street
Pole foundations complete for three locations on Robb Drive and Seventh Street. Work will be paused at these locations for approximately 3-weeks as crews wait on scheduling to complete concrete work. Crews will begin work at other locations during this time.
Mayberry Drive
Work begins for the installation of school zone flashers on Mayberry Drive and an emergency vehicle flasher at Fire Station No. 5.
The work zone is on Mayberry Drive from Robin Street to approximately 500 feet east of Hunter Lake Drive.
During working hours the outside lane/shoulder will be closed in both directions on Mayberry Drive. One lane of traffic in both directions will remain open at all times. Business/residential driveways will also remain open. Please remember to share the road with cyclists.
Upcoming Work:
Work will begin at the intersections of E. Greg Street/Kleppe Lane and at Baring Boulevard/Truckee Lane later this month.
VETERANS ROUNDABOUT MODIFICATIONS

During the week of 11/10, work items will generally include: RRFB and light pole installation, striping and punch list work.
- A minimum of one paved travel lane will be open in each direction.
- Left turn lanes at all signalized intersections will be open.
- Short traffic delays may occur during this phase of construction.
- Access will be maintained to adjacent properties.
- Temporary driveway closures may occur during certain construction activities; and if so, Q&D will provide notice to impacted properties 18-24 hours prior to start of work.
- Normal working hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Work will not occur on 10/31/2025 in observance of the Nevada Day Holiday.
- Vehicles and pedestrians should follow posted detours.
- Alternate routes, such as utilizing S. Virginia St and newly improved Steamboat Pkwy, are encouraged in an ongoing effort to alleviate traffic through the work zone when possible.
VISTA AND DISC INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Final traffic signal upgrades and road striping work will occur in the first half of 2026 when temperatures are warmer.
WEST FOURTH STREET DOWNTOWN
RTC Project Manager, Scott Gibson, P.E. – (775) 335-1874Crews will be working on the north side of Fourth Street between West Street and Keystone Avenue. Westbound outside lane will be closed in certain areas to provide a work zone buffer. Traffic impacts should be minimal but slow down for workers.
