Start the New Year Safely with Free Rides from RTC

RENO, Nev. (Dec. 30, 2025) – The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County (RTC) will once again offer free rides on all RTC Transit services on New Year’s Eve, helping residents and visitors celebrate safely and responsibly.

Free service will be available on RTC RIDE, ACCESS and FlexRIDE starting Tuesday, December 31, from 6 p.m. through 2 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

“New Year’s Eve is one of the busiest nights of the year, and we want everyone to get home safely,” said RTC Public Information Officer Josh MacEachern. “Offering free rides makes it easy for people to plan ahead, leave the car at home, and start the new year on a positive note.”

RTC encourages riders to plan trips in advance, allow extra travel time, and check schedules at rtcwashoe.com or through the Transit app for the latest route information.
