RTC is currently developing a Regional Freight Plan. This plan will identify transportation needs and priorities to support a thriving regional economy through efficient freight and goods movement as well as workforce access. RTC initiated the Regional Freight Plan in recognition of the importance of transportation in the safety and efficiency of freight movement. While the RTC’s Regional Transportation Plan has incorporated freight transportation for many years, this plan is the area’s first extensive analysis of freight trends and needs. The plan focuses primarily on Washoe County, although it is recognized that freight and its economic impacts extend across county boundaries in Northern Nevada and California.
The Vision of the Regional Freight Plan is to foster a thriving and diverse economy in Northern Nevada through safe and efficient freight transportation infrastructure.
