ARLINGTON AVENUE BRIDGES PROJECT – 1ST STREET TO ISLAND AVENUE

Arlington Avenue will be closed between West 1st Street and Island Avenue. Northbound traffic will be detoured to the Virginia Street bridge or Center Street. Southbound traffic and pedestrians will be detoured to the Sierra Street bridge.
- West Street will be open to westbound traffic only between West Street and Stevenson Street.
- Wingfield Park will remain closed from May 5, 2025, until summer 2026.
- River recreation detours will also be in place.

Continuous single lane closures on Mill Street westbound from Greg Street/Terminal Way to the I-580 southbound ramp intersection. Daytime and nighttime construction with single lane closures on Mill Street between I-580 and Terminal Way.
Bus Stop Closures:
- The Route 12/14 westbound bus stop at Mill Street/Matley Lane is closed
- The Route 14 eastbound bus stop at Mill Street Gould Street is closed.

Roadway and sidewalk reconstruction to be performed on Meadowood Mall Circle between S. Virginia Street and Meadowood Mall Circle, Meadowood Mall Way between S. Virginia Street and Meadowood Mall Circle, and Neil Way between Neil Road and Meadowood Mall Circle.
Meadowood Mall Circle
- One lane each direction will be maintained during the day.
- Route 1 Bus Stop on Meadowood Mall Circle (at Jiffy Lube) will be temporarily closed.
- Jiffy Lube driveway access will be maintained at all times.
- Directional roadway closures in effect during nighttime working hours.
Neil Way

Field exploration to obtain geotechnical borings for the design phase of the Project will occur on Sun Valley Boulevard from Scottsdale Road to 7th Avenue. Work will start at the north end of the project and progress to the south.

VISTA AND DISC INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Major road work at the Vista Boulevard and Disc Drive intersection in Sparks is expected to begin in July. In the meantime, the following work associated with the project at other locations is underway:
Mira Loma Drive /Veterans Parkway in Reno:
- Closure of the eastbound Mira Loma right turn lane to Veterans Parkway for crosswalk safety improvements. This closure is 24/7 until the project is completed. Motorists can still make the right turn using the thru lane.
- Periodic closures of the right lane on Veterans Parkway southbound at the intersection. Veterans Parkway Lane closures will only occur between 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- The multi-use pathway along Veterans Parkways will be closed intermittently during work to ensure the safety of users and construction crews.
Nichols Drive in Sparks:
- Various shoulder closures in both directions east of McCarran Boulevard for median island reconstruction.
