The Engineering Department has one area of responsibility, the Streets and Highways Program (S&H Program).

STREETS AND HIGHWAYS

The S&H Program is responsible for program development, design, construction and contract management of roadway projects. The selection of road projects is a cooperative regional process involving the cities of Reno and Sparks, and Washoe County. The RTC also partners with NDOT to manage and construct certain state road projects. Developing a team approach on these projects gets the work done in less time and often at a reduced cost to taxpayers. The S&H Program is funded through several sources.
