2023 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE PROJECT

There is no planned work. The project is substantially complete.


FIRST STREET REHABILITATION AND SIGNAL REPLACEMENT (VIRGINIA TO SIERRA STREET)

Construction begins February 20, 2024 with Phase 1 and Phase 2 controls in place. Sierra Street will be stop sign controlled with flaggers as necessary. There will be activity at all corners of the intersection to remove old signal structures and construct new signal pole foundations. There will be excavation work on the southwest corner of the intersection for the TMWA water main replacement. First Street will be one-way west between Sierra and West Streets and one way east from Sierra Street to Virginia Street. The parking gallery will be open and accessible from First Street west bound.


ODDIE/WELLS PROJECT – PYRAMID WAY (SPARKS) TO I-80 WESTBOUND RAMPS (RENO)

Construction work is weather dependent.

Phase 1 – Pyramid Way to Sullivan Lane (Sparks):

  • Construction is complete. Minor punch item list work and landscape maintenance taking place (weather permitting).

Phase 2 – Sullivan Lane (Sparks) to east of US 395 Ramps (Reno):

  • Major construction was completed.
  • Intermittent one lane closures.
  • Weather dependent items: landscape, permanent striping and punch list items.
  • NVE installing lights (supply availability)

Phase 3 – east of US 395 Ramps to Sutro Street (Reno):

Phase 4 – Sutro Street to I-80 Ramps (Reno):

  • Lane closures, one lane in each direction.
  • Storm drain, underground signal and light conduit installation, curb, gutter, and concrete flatwork.

TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATIONS 23-01

The following traffic controls will be in effect, Mondays through Fridays, for construction of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Moana Lane and Baker Lane/Smith Drive:

  • Shoulder and intermittent lane closures on Moana Lane between South Virginia Street and Lymbery Street.
  • Shoulder closures and lane shifts on Baker Lane.
  • Intermittent closures of Smith Drive with a signed detour provided.
