Your Safety. Our Priority.
Stay Vigilant — Be Our Eyes & Ears
Your awareness helps keep the transit system safe. If you see something suspicious — an unattended item, strange behavior, or something just doesn’t feel right — you have the power to help.
| What to do | Action |
|---|---|
| See something suspicious? | Don’t touch anything. Alert a uniformed officer, RTC RIDE or another RTC employee. |
| Where to report: | Call (888) 682-8227, call 911 in emergencies, or notify the appropriate transit staff. |
| Why you matter: | Public vigilance makes the system safer for everyone. We work together. |
If You See Something Suspicious
Stay calm and think safety first. Don’t jump to conclusions and don’t get personally involved — your role is simply to observe and report.
| What NOT to do | What TO do |
|---|---|
| ❌ Don’t take action yourself | ✅ Notice the full situation before making a judgment |
| ❌ Don’t confront anyone | ✅ Record as many details as you can |
| ❌ Don’t reveal your suspicions | ✅ Report it to the proper authorities right away |
How to Share What You Saw
When reporting, clear details matter most. Think of the “Five W’s”:
- Who you saw
- What they were doing
- Where it happened
- When it happened
- Why it seemed suspicious
