Ride Reno Spin Sparks Community Bike Event Saturday, May 18
Reno, Nevada (May 16, 2024) – Join the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC), Washoe County, City of Reno, City of Sparks, Truckee Meadows Bicycle Alliance and Kiwanis Bike Program for a community bicycle event this Saturday, May 18 starting at Teglia’s Paradise Park.
Commissioner Mariluz Garcia and other community partners are celebrating bicycle and pedestrian improvements along the Oddie Wells corridor with a three-mile ride as part of National Bike Month.
“It is so important to provide safe places for people to walk and bike in our region, and Oddie Wells is a great example of some of the recent improvements being made by the RTC in a multi-jurisdictional area that greatly needed better infrastructure and connectivity,” said Commissioner Garcia. “Partnering with Bernice Mathews Elementary for this neighborhood event has created a lot of excitement and awareness about bike safety and access for the students who live here.”
The event runs from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., and features tables from local organizations, free bicycle safety checks, and a raffle courtesy of Kiwanis Bike Program.
