Help Improve Biking and Walking Safety in Central Sparks

Reno, Nevada (January 27, 2025) – The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is working to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists within Central Sparks as part of the Neighborhood Network Plan.

“We want to hear from residents, business owners, and our community about gaps in the sidewalk, problems safely crossing the road, unsafe bicycle conditions and other safety concerns,” RTC Senior Technical Planner Marquis Williams said. “The interactive comment map at rtcwashoe.com/neighborhood is a great way to see what areas we are looking to improve, and we encourage the community to come to our public events and ask questions.”

Join RTC at the next three Neighborhood Network Plan informational events:

  • Community Workshop: Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Sparks High School, 820 15th St., Sparks, NV 89431
  • Pop-Up Information Booth: Saturday, Feb. 22, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Lighthouse Coffee Shop (Sparks Marina location), 325 Harbour Cove Drive, Suite 121, Sparks, NV 89434
  • Pop-Up Information Booth: Sunday, March 9, from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. at El Rancho Flea Market, 555 El Rancho Dr., Sparks NV 89431

RTC will also be accepting public comments online through March 14, 2025, at www.rtcwashoe.com/neighborhood.
