Construction Begins on South Virginia and I-580 Project June 16

Reno, Nevada (June 14, 2024) – The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County will begin construction on the South Virginia Street and I-580 Exit 29 Capacity and Safety Project on Sunday, June 16 at approximately 7 p.m. with lane closures adjacent to the median.

Night work will continue June 17 through June 21, with traffic shifting the week of June 24 to accommodate lane closures adjacent to the sidewalk on the northbound side from Patriot Boulevard to Longley Lane.

This project aims to improve capacity and safety by widening South Virginia Street from the I-580 off-ramp to Longley Lane.
