The project will increase safety, add roadway capacity, and improve bicycle and pedestrian facilities by widening Sparks Boulevard between I-80 westbound ramps and Baring Boulevard, with additional roadway improvements between Baring Boulevard and Shadow Lane. LATEST NEWS
Construction started September 15, 2025. Initial items of work include tree removals, utility relocations and structural work within the North Truckee drain. The community is encouraged to stay informed of the project.

Construction is complete for the southern segment (Phase 1) of the project, between Greg Street and I-80.
