RTC Pavement Rehabilitation on 7th Street, 6th Street and West Street Begins Monday
RENO, Nev. (Jan. 30, 2026) – The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County will begin pavement rehabilitation work on key sections of 7th Street, 6th Street and West Street starting Monday, Feb. 2. The project is part of RTC’s ongoing commitment to maintain and improve roadway infrastructure.
Project improvements include:
- Pavement rehabilitation along 7th Street from Keystone Avenue to Washington Street
- Pavement rehabilitation along 6th Street from Arlington Avenue to West Street
- Pavement rehabilitation on West Street from 5th Street to 6th Street
Work will include removal and replacement of portions of concrete curb, gutter, sidewalks, pedestrian ramps and driveway approaches. Crews will work Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., through March 2026.
“Pavement rehabilitation helps support safer and smoother travel for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists,” said Ashley Hurlbut, RTC project manager. “This investment shows how local transportation dollars translate into real everyday improvements for our community.”
Drivers, residents and businesses are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and follow posted construction signage in the area.
