RTC Washoe Begins Paving on Mill Street Starting April 1
Lane reductions expected throughout April as crews complete widening work
RENO, Nev. (March 30, 2026) — The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County will begin paving operations on the Mill Street Improvement Project Wednesday, April 1, with work continuing through April.
Crews will reduce Mill Street to one lane in each direction 24/7 until pavement operations are complete.
Paving will start in the eastbound direction between Kietzke Lane and Interstate 580, and on adjacent side streets including Market Street and Golden Lane. Crews will resume mainline Mill Street milling on April 9 and return for nighttime paving operations the week of April 12.
“This is a significant milestone for the Mill Street project,” said Amanda Callegari, RTC Washoe Engineering Manager. “We appreciate the community’s patience as crews complete this work, and we’re committed to keeping disruptions to a minimum throughout the paving process.”
Drivers should plan ahead, allow extra travel time and follow all posted signage through the corridor. Construction schedules may change due to weather conditions.
