Learn More About the Sun Valley Corridor Improvements Project

 

RENO, Nev. (Feb. 25, 2026) – The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County has opened the public comment period and scheduled a public meeting for the Sun Valley Corridor Improvements Project. Community members can view the meeting materials and submit feedback online starting today, Feb. 25 through March 27, at www.sunvalleyblvdimprovements.com.

 

This proposed $87 million infrastructure upgrade focuses on Sun Valley Boulevard from Scottsdale Road to 7th Avenue. The project is led by RTC in collaboration with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), and Washoe County.

 

The project is currently at the 60 percent design phase and is progressing through the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process, with construction anticipated to begin in 2027.

 

The in-person public meeting will be held Wednesday, March 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hug High School, 3530 Sullivan Lane, Sparks, NV 89431.
