RTC invites public to Northeast Connector open houses March 10
Two sessions offer opportunities to learn about proposed I-80 corridor alternatives and share feedback
RENO, Nev. (March 4, 2026) – The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is inviting the public to attend one of two open house events on Tuesday, March 10, to learn more about proposed corridor alignment alternatives being studied as part of the Northeast Connector Feasibility and Alignment Study.
The open houses are designed to provide additional opportunities for community members who were unable to attend the December 2025 public information meeting. Both sessions will present the same information shared previously, along with a summary of public comments and frequently asked questions received to date.
The Northeast Connector study explores a potential new corridor alignment that would establish an alternate route between Reno/Sparks and the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center (TRIC), improving connectivity and helping alleviate congestion and reliability issues along I-80.
TRIC Open House March 10, 2026 | 11 a.m.–1 p.m. at the Storey County TRI Training Room | 1705 Peru Drive, McCarran NV.
Spanish Springs Open House March 10, 2026 | 4:30–7:30 p.m. at Mendive Middle School | 1900 Whitewood Drive, Sparks NV.
Community members are also encouraged to take the project survey, available online at rtcwashoe.com/northeast-connector through March 31, 2026. Hard copy versions of the survey are available by emailing Bryan Byrne, P.E., at bbyrne@rtcwashoe.com. All comments received become part of the public record subject to disclosure by NRS 239.0107.
