Arlington Avenue/First Street Intersection Closure Begins Monday
Final intersection improvements to wrap up by May 4
RENO, Nev. (March 20, 2026) – The Arlington Avenue/First Street intersection will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, March 23, through Monday, May 4. The closure will allow crews to complete final improvements in the intersection, including new sidewalks, curbs, gutters and intersection paving.
The closure will affect vehicles, bicyclists and pedestrians. During the closure, travelers will be detoured from First Street to West Street for westbound travel or Ralston Street for eastbound travel to access Second Street. Pedestrians can also use Roff Way as a detour route.
This will be the last intersection closure needed at First Street/Arlington Avenue to complete improvements. On May 4, First Street will reopen to both eastbound and westbound traffic.
RTC appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as crews complete this phase of work and move the project closer to completion.
