RTC Invites Community to Public Information Meeting on Prater Way Rehabilitation Project

SPARKS, Nev. – The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County invites the public to attend a Public Information Meeting to learn more about the upcoming Prater Way Rehabilitation Project, planned from Pyramid Way to Probasco Way in Sparks.

The open-house style meeting will take place:

📅 Wednesday, January 14, 2026
🕠 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
🎤 Brief presentation at 6:00 p.m.
📍 Lincoln Park Elementary School — 201 Lincoln Way, Sparks

Community members are encouraged to stop by at any time during the meeting to review project displays, ask questions, and provide feedback to RTC staff and the project team.

The Prater Way Rehabilitation Project includes pavement reconstruction, safety enhancements, improved pedestrian and bicycle facilities, drainage upgrades, and intersection improvements designed to reduce crashes and improve mobility for all users.

“We want to ensure the community understands the safety needs driving this project and has the opportunity to ask questions and share input,” said Josh MacEachern, RTC Public Information Officer. “Prater Way is an important corridor for families, students, transit riders, and local businesses, and these improvements are designed to make it safer and more comfortable for everyone who uses it.”

The meeting will provide information about the proposed roadway configuration, traffic analysis results, expected travel-time changes, project benefits, right-of-way needs, and the current construction schedule. Team members from RTC and its consulting partners will be available throughout the evening.
