RENO, Nev. (Dec. 11, 2025) – The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County invites the community to a public information meeting to learn about the findings of the Northeast Connector Feasibility and Alignment Study.
The meeting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Red Hawk Golf Resort Events Center. It will include information about the feasibility study process, proposed alternatives and key findings. A formal presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m., and RTC project team members will be available throughout the meeting to answer questions and discuss the study’s insights and next steps.
What is the Northeast Connector Feasibility and Alignment Study?
The Northeast Connector Feasibility and Alignment Study explores whether a new roadway between northeast Sparks/Spanish Springs and the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center is feasible and beneficial for the region. It examines traffic patterns, environmental considerations, potential alignments, construction factors and conceptual costs to determine which connection should move forward for further analysis.
What is a feasibility study?
A feasibility study is the first step in evaluating a major transportation project. It identifies opportunities, challenges and high-level viability before any detailed engineering or environmental review begins. The study helps regional decision-makers understand whether a project is worth advancing to future phases.
Meeting materials and an online version of the presentation will be available after the meeting at rtcwashoe.com/northeast-connector.
