RTC Provides Free Transit to The Great Reno Ballon Race

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is once again providing free transit service to the Great Reno Balloon Race Friday, September 5 through Sunday, September 7. Passengers can ride the RAPID Virginia Line for free to Rancho San Rafael Park from 4 a.m. until 10 a.m. during the event.

Free RTC Transit to Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook Off

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County will provide free transportation on the RAPID Lincoln Line and Route 11 service starting Wednesday, August 27 through Monday, September 1 all day, each day to the Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook Off, in partnership with The Nugget Casino Resort. RTC will also provide free ACCESS rides to and from the event.

Full Closures on Arrowcreek Parkway Begin Today

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is implementing a full closure on Arrowcreek Parkway from the east side of the Thomas Creek Road Intersection to the west side of the Wedge Parkway and Arrowcreek Parkway intersection starting today, Monday, July 21 and continuing through Tuesday, August 12.

Construction Begins on Legends Roundabouts

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County will start construction on the Legends Roundabouts tonight, July 7.

This project will modify the two roundabouts on East Lincoln Way in Sparks between Sparks Boulevard and Marina Gateway Drive to reduce crashes, improve lane utilization, add capacity and facilitate safer pedestrian crossings.

Ralston Street Bridge Closed for Resurfacing June 24 – July 3

The Ralston Street bridge over Interstate 80 will be closed for resurfacing starting Tuesday, June 24 as part of the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County’s 2025 Bridge Maintenance Project. Work is expected to be completed by July 3.

First St./Arlington Ave. Intersection Closure

The First St./Arlington Ave. intersection has been temporarily closed to all vehicle traffic and pedestrians through Friday, June 20 as crews advance the construction of the RTC’s Arlington Avenue Bridges Project. During the closure, drivers and pedestrians traveling on First St. will be detoured to Second St. via West St. or Ralston St.

Construction on Arlington Avenue Bridges Begins May 5

The RTC, in partnership with the City of Reno, is beginning a construction project to replace the Arlington Avenue Bridges spanning the Truckee River at Wingfield Park. These nearly century-old bridges will be transformed into modern, safer crossings that preserve Downtown Reno’s character. The project is anticipated to be completed in summer 2026.

Construction Begins on Mill Street Capacity and Safety Project

The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County will begin construction on the Mill Street Capacity and Safety Project Monday, April 14. This long-anticipated project will significantly improve safety and traffic operations on Mill Street from Yori Avenue to Terminal Way.
