ARLINGTON AVENUE BRIDGES PROJECT – 1ST STREET TO ISLAND AVENUE

Arlington Avenue will be closed between West 1st Street and Island Avenue. Northbound traffic will be detoured to the Virginia Street Bridge or Center Street. Southbound traffic and pedestrians will be detoured to the Sierra Street Bridge.
- West Street will be open to westbound traffic only between West Street and Stevenson Street.
- Wingfield Park will remain closed from May 5, 2025, until summer 2026.
- River recreation detours will also be in place.

Daytime and nighttime construction continues with some single lane closures westbound on Mill Street between I-580 and Terminal Way.
Nighttime work continues at the Kietzke Lane/Mill Street intersection.
Bus Stop Closures:
- The Route 12/14 westbound bus stop at Mill Street/Matley Lane is closed.

E. LINCOLN WAY ROUNDABOUT RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT

Construction on E. Lincoln Way between Marina Gateway Drive and Sparks Boulevard is anticipated to continue through September.
- Normal working hours are 9:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Sunday night through Thursday morning.
- One paved travel lane in each direction will remain open through E. Linchol Way between Sparks Boulevard and Marina Gateway Drive during the day
- There will be limited access to/from Scheels Drive, George Ferris Drive, and north mall access through the Scheels roundabout intermittently during the day throughout construction. Alternate access to adjacent properties will be maintained.
- Scheels roundabout will be fully closed during night-time working hours.
- Left turn lanes from northbound Sparks Boulevard to westbound E. Lincoln Way will be reduced throughout construction.
- Vehicles and pedestrians should follow posted detours.

VISTA AND DISC INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Major road work at the Vista Boulevard and Disc Drive intersection in Sparks for construction of new turn lanes is expected to begin in late July or early August.
Work is substantially complete at the Nichols Drive location and Veterans Parkway/Mira Loma Drive intersection. Motorists may occasionally see crews for final cleanup work.
2025 BRIDGE MAINTENANCE

Evans Street Bridge over I-80 will be closed July 14 to July 23. Alternate bridge routes are, Virginia Street, Ralston Street, Washington Street, and Vine Street to the west, and Valley Road and Wells Avenue to the east.
ARROWCREEK PARKWAY & WEDGE PARKWAY REHABILITATION

Paving operations will start on Arrowcreek Parkways from Thomas Creek Road to approximately the west side of the Arrowcreek Parkway/Wedge Parkway intersection on July 21 and is expected to continue through mid-August. Construction of concrete improvements: curb, gutter, sidewalk, pedestrian ramps, driveways and valley gutters will continue in the westbound lane of Arrowcreek Parkway, and at the Geyser Road/Arrowcreek Parkway intersection.
Arrowcreek Pkwy
- A full closure on Arrowcreek Pkwy, from approximately the west side of the Wedge Pkwy/Arrowcreek Pkwy intersection to the east side of the Thomas Creek Rd/Arrowcreek Pkwy intersection, will be in place through paving operations. Traffic will be detoured to Mt Rose Hwy and S. Virginia St via Thomas Creek Rd.
- Normal working hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
- Work is tentatively scheduled to occur on Saturday, 07/26/2025 and 08/02/2025
Wedge Pkwy
- Concrete removals will start on Wedge Pkwy next week; two-way traffic will be maintained with intermittent closures
VETERANS ROUNDABOUT MODIFICATIONS

Work will continue on the inside lane of the roundabout and will generally include: concrete demolition, landscape removals and start of construction of concrete improvements.
- A minimum of one paved travel lane will be open in each direction
- Left turn lanes at all signalized intersections will be open
- Short traffic delays may occur during this phase of construction
- Access will be maintained to adjacent properties
- Temporary driveway closures may occur during certain construction activities; and if so, Q&D will provide notice to impacted properties 18-24 hours prior to start of work
- Normal working hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
- Vehicles and pedestrians should follow posted detours.
