Construction begins on Pembroke Drive capacity and safety project
RENO, Nev. – The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County (RTC) will begin construction this month on the Pembroke Drive Capacity and Safety Project, which will improve traffic capacity and safety between South McCarran Boulevard and Veterans Parkway.
The project will widen Pembroke Drive, connect the existing multi-use paths along McCarran Boulevard and Veterans Parkway, and improve underground utilities and storm drain infrastructure.
The first phase of construction will focus on earthwork and installation of underground utilities and storm drain infrastructure. Minimal traffic impacts are anticipated during this phase, which is expected to continue through December.
