RTC continues daytime paving on Sparks Boulevard Nov. 2-7

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County will conduct daytime paving on Sparks Boulevard between Prater Way and Baring Boulevard from Monday, Nov. 2, through Saturday, Nov. 7.

Motorists should anticipate traffic delays throughout the work zone and intermittent closures of Tyco Way, Express Street and Springland/O’Callaghan as crews progress through paving operations.

“We appreciate the patience of everyone who commutes on Sparks Boulevard or lives in the area and their commitment to keeping our crews safe by driving carefully through work zones,” said Garrett Rodgers, RTC project manager. “The Sparks community has been very patient during this busy construction season, and we look forward to completing this project on schedule in June 2027.”

RTC encourages motorists to use alternate routes, allow additional travel time and avoid the construction area whenever possible. Construction schedules and traffic control are subject to change based on weather and field conditions.
