Road rehabilitation work begins Monday on Prater Way in Sparks

Traffic narrows to one lane in each direction from Pyramid Way to Stanford Way

SPARKS, Nev. (June 11, 2026) — The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County (RTC) is starting roadway improvements on Prater Way in Sparks on Monday, June 15. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Pyramid Way and Stanford Way as crews begin concrete removal, concrete replacement and storm drain improvements on the Prater Way Rehabilitation Project.

Drivers should plan for minor delays throughout the corridor and allow extra travel time. RTC asks motorists to slow down, follow all posted signage and use caution around crews and equipment.

“This rehabilitation project is a major investment in keeping Prater Way safe and functional for everyone who uses it,” said Kimberly Diegle, RTC project manager. “We’ll get through this construction as quickly and efficiently as possible, and we appreciate the community’s patience while we work to enhance the corridor.”
