RTC offers free rides to Hot August Nights Aug. 4-9
RENO, Nev. (Aug. 3, 2026) — The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County will offer free rides Aug. 4-9 on the RAPID Virginia Line, RAPID Lincoln Line and Routes 1, 7 and 11 during Hot August Nights. RTC ACCESS customers can also enjoy free rides to Hot August Nights event locations on those dates.
The free service gives residents and visitors another way to get to the event without worrying about downtown parking or congestion. RTC is offering the service as part of its ongoing effort to reduce traffic congestion during major community events.
“Why not show up in style in a $1 million vehicle?” said Alex Cruz, senior transit planner for RTC Washoe. “Free rides mean more people can enjoy Hot August Nights without circling for parking or sitting in traffic.”
Route information, trip planning tools and real-time transit information are available at RTCWashoe.com or by using the Transit App. Riders are also encouraged to follow @RTCWashoe on social media for service updates.
