Southbound Sparks Boulevard lane reductions begin Wednesday
SPARKS, Nev. (April 6, 2026) — The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County will reduce traffic to one lane on southbound Sparks Boulevard between Baring Boulevard and Shadow Lane beginning Wednesday, April 8, and continuing through Friday, April 10. Closures will be in effect daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Workers will use the closure window to install large precast box culverts as part of ongoing drainage improvements along the corridor.
Drivers traveling in the area should plan for delays, reduced speeds, and proceed with caution through work zones.
“The community has been incredibly patient as we implement these improvements,” said Josh MacEachern, RTC Public Information Officer. “This work is an important step in improving the drainage infrastructure around this area.”
