Project Description

The Eagle Canyon Safety and Operations project will extend the Eagle Canyon shared use path from Alena Drive to Calle De La Plata, improve lighting, signage, and striping for high-T merge at Eagle Canyon Drive and East Canyon Park, and evaluate and install safety enhancements at six pedestrian crossing locations:

• Eagle Canyon/ Richard Springs
• Eagle Canyon/Missy
• Eagle Canyon/ Alena Drive
• Eagle Canyon/ Goldeneye
• Golden Valley/Spearhead
• Golden Valley/ North Valleys High School.

Construction began on June 15 2026, and will continue to early September 2026.

Working hours are between
7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Anticipate several traffic control set ups ranging from shoulder closures, single lane closures, and flagger control.

Crews continue work on the shared-use path and anticipate to begin paving the sometime in August 2026. Concrete improvements for the pedestrian ramps and median on Eagle Canyon Drive are also nearing completion. Work will begin Monday, July 27, 2026, on Golden Valley Road at the entrance of North Valleys High School.

Also beginning in August 2026, crews will begin preventative maintenance (slurry seal) of Eagle Canyon Drive from Calle De La Plata to Pyramid Way. Anticipate significant traffic impacts during working hours as this work occurs. A notice will be provided via the RTC Weekly Traffic Control Report.
