Project Description
This project will construct a new traffic signal on Sparks Boulevard at the Ion Drive / Sawgrass Lane intersection in order to improve safety and traffic operations.
Latest News
Beginning Tuesday, July 21, Ion Drive will be closed in both directions at the Sparks Boulevard intersection. Access to Ion Drive will be provided via Los Altos Parkway and a signed detour will be in place. This closure will be in place 24/7 until approximately August 7.
The project has been awarded to Sierra Nevada Construction, Inc. Construction started on July 13, 2026. Working hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
A single lane closure will remain in place for the southbound direction from Village Meadows Drive/Village Knoll Drive to Cathedral Peak Drive/Oak Hill Drive. In late August 2026, crews will transition to work on the Sawgrass Lane approach, which will result in single lane closures for the northbound direction.
