Project Description
The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County (RTC), in partnership with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) plans to provide bus-only lanes on South Virginia Street from Peckham Lane to Plumb Lane. Additional scope for this project includes water line replacement, sidewalk and driveway upgrades for ADA compliance, drainage improvements and traffic signal improvements. Additionally, RTC will upgrade of the existing southbound mini Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) station north of Brinkby Avenue to a full size station, and modify the loading platform of several existing BRT stations along the Virginia RAPID Line.
Latest News
Q& D Construction commenced work on the project on June 1, 2026. Crews have completed waterline relocation work, and will continue with other various underground utility work and concrete replacement through Fall 2026 and Winter 2026. Modifications to existing Virginia Line BRT stations is ongoing.
