FOR RELEASE: Southbound Sparks Boulevard lane reductions begin Wednesday

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County will reduce traffic to one lane on southbound Sparks Boulevard between Baring Boulevard and Shadow Lane beginning Wednesday, April 8, and continuing through Friday, April 10. Closures will be in effect daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

FOR RELEASE: RTC Washoe Begins Paving on Mill Street Starting April 1

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County will begin paving operations on the Mill Street Improvement Project Tuesday, April 1, with work continuing through April.

Crews will reduce Mill Street to one lane in each direction 24/7 until pavement operations are complete.

FOR RELEASE: RTC Hosts Public Hearing for the Lemmon Drive Traffic Improvements & Resiliency Project Environmental Assessment

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County and the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) have prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Lemmon Drive Traffic Improvements and Resiliency Project, a proposed infrastructure initiative designed to improve safety and protect the roadway from future flooding. The public is being invited to participate in a public hearing by reviewing and providing comments on the EA.

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is inviting community members to learn more about the upcoming Prater Way Rehabilitation Project at a pop-up information event at Sparks City Hall on Wednesday, February 4, from 4–6 p.m., as well as through online project materials available at rtcwashoe.com/project/prater-way-rehabilitation. Community feedback can be submitted online now through February 12.

Construction on Sparks Boulevard Project Begins Monday September 15

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County, in partnership with the City of Sparks and the Nevada Department of Transportation, is beginning construction on the second phase of the Sparks Boulevard Project from the I-80 westbound ramps to Baring Boulevard, with additional roadway improvements included from Baring Boulevard to Shadow Lane. The project is anticipated for completion in mid-2027 and represents an investment of approximately $86 million into our community, funded with a combination of federal grants and local sources.

The Move More with RTC study will review services like RTC RIDE, FlexRIDE, ACCESS and senior mobility programs to recommend ways to improve access, reliability, and rider experience.

RTC Provides Free Transit to The Great Reno Ballon Race

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is once again providing free transit service to the Great Reno Balloon Race Friday, September 5 through Sunday, September 7. Passengers can ride the RAPID Virginia Line for free to Rancho San Rafael Park from 4 a.m. until 10 a.m. during the event.
