7TH STREET, 6TH STREET, & WEST REHABILITATION PROJECT

7th Street Between Keystone Avenue and Washington Street

  • Construction is substantially complete. Crews may be intermittently working on miscellaneous clean up on-site.
  • Crews will remobilize on 7th Street near Keystone for work in the median, and 7th Street will have one-way westbound travel from Washington Street to Keystone Avenue at a time and duration to be determined.
  • Parking on the south side of 7th Street between Keystone Street and Washington Aveneue is prohibited in the new bike lane.

6th Street between Arlington Avenue and West Street & West Street between 5th Street and 6th Street 

  • Construction is substationaly complete.  Crews may be intermittently working on miscellaneous clean up on-site.

ARLINGTON AVENUE BRIDGES PROJECT – 1ST STREET TO ISLAND AVENUE

All previous traffic control measures are itll in place.  Arlington will remain closed through June 8, 2026.  Arlington is planned to open to traffic on June 9th , 2026.


BUCK DRIVE ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS

Work Description 

This project will be completed in multiple phases.  Initial work includes concrete and roadway improvements on the south side of the roadway.

Traffic Impacts

  • Traffic control will be in place with modified travel patterns.
  • 2-way traffic on Buck Drive and N. Hills Boulevard.
  • Access is limited to the Grocery Outlet Delivery Driveway.

Additional Information

  • Construction activities may impact bus routes and commute times.
  • Traffic control will be adjusted as feasible to reduce peak hour impacts

MILL STREET CAPACITY & SAFETY

Lane Closures  

Construction is substantially complete, but single lane closures may occur on Mill Street from Yori Way to Terminal Way with left turn lanes at all signalized intersections.  Closures on Kietzke Lane in the vicinity may also take place.  Short traffic delays may occur during some operations.

Signal at Golden Lane

The new traffic signal at Mill Street and Golden Lane is now operational. Please use caution when driving through this area.

PRATER WAY REHABILITATION PROJECT

Lane Closures 

Roadway construction on Prater Way will begin on June 15.  From Pyramid Way to Standofr Way, lanes will be reduced to one(1) lane in each direction from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.


SPARKS BOULEVARD CAPACITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT – NORTH PHASE

Construction will continue through June 2027. Project limits are from intersection of Sparks Boulevard/I80 westbound ramps to the intersection of Sparks Boulevard/Shadow Lane.

The community is encouraged to stay informed about the project by accessing the project website (www.sparksblvdproject.com), or by texting “Sparks” to 866-540-8466.

Construction operations will mostly take place from 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the northbound direction and 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the southbound direction, Monday through Friday. Nighttime work and marathon weekend work are anticipated, with traffic control updates communicated in advance of this work.

The community can expect the following traffic control:

Northbound and Southbound Long-Term Closure (24/7 thru June 2026)

  • 24/7 single lane closure Sparks Boulevard between Prater Way and the Baring Boulevard Intersection in the northbound direction. Closure in effect through June 2026.
  • 24/7 single lane closure Sparks Boulevard between Shadow Lane and Prater Way Intersections in the southbound direction.  Closure in effect through June 2026.
  • 24/7 Single lane closure Sparks Boulevard from I-80 to Lincoln Way northbound direction.  I-80 eastbound off-ramp lane restrictions.

Southbound (9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday-Friday)

  • Single lane closure Sparks Boulevard from Prater Way to Lincoln Way.

Northbound (5:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Monday-Friday)

  • Single lane closure Sparks Boulevard Lincoln Way to Prater Way

Howard Drive Detour

  • Howard Drive closed at Sparks Boulevard. Detour available via Fargo Way to O’Callaghan Drive.

This project is substantially complete.  There is no work scheduled during this timeframe.  Crews will be completing remining roadway striping items in June.


VIRGINIA LINE BRT IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

Lane Closures 

Construction has begun Sunday nights to Friday mornings from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.  Lanes on S. Virginia Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Moana Lane to Hubbard Way. 

Gentry Way Intersection 

Through traffic on Gentry Way at Virginia Street may be detoured from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. 


WEST FOURTH STREET DOWNTOWN (WEST STREET TO VINE STREET)

The Fourth Street and Vine Street intersections is open with temporary signal equipment in place.  Crews have completed slurry sealing and striping Fourth Street and Vine Street outside of the intersection.  Crews will continue installing the new corridor lighting.  Some of these lights have been stood up on the south side of Fourth Street between Ralston Street and Arlington Avenue – check it out!.  Slow down for workers!


WEST FOURTH STREET SAFTEY (VINE STREET TO MCCARRAN BOULEVARD)

Traffic has been shifted to the southside of Fourth Street with two-way traffic in one lane each direction in the four lane areas.  The signals at Stoker have been removed and there is now three-way stop sign control at Stoker as well as Summit Ridge Court.  The north side of the roadway will be a work zone throughout the corridor.  In the two-lane area west of Summit Ridge Court, traffic will two-way as well with stop control at Summit Ridge Court.  There will be occasions of flagger control when work encroaches on the westbound lane. Retaining wall and sidewalk work continues, work is progressing throughout the corridor.  Please slow down so everyone goes home safe!
