BUCK DRIVE ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

Work Description

This project will be completed in multiple phases. The next phase will implement final striping. The new signal at North Hills Boulevard and Buck Drive will be installed later this fall.

Traffic Impacts

  • Traffic control will be in place with modified travel patterns.
  • Utilize U-turns for business access.

EAGLE CANYON SAFETY AND OPERATIONS PROJECT

Work Description 

Paving of the shared-use path is complete.  Final micro-surfacing for Eagle Canyon Drive to take place on Saturday, September 12th.  This has been moved to weekend work to reduce impact to the traveling public and schools in the area.  There will be major traffic disruptions while this work is completed.  Please plan accordingly and avoid the area if possible.  We appreciate your patience as we complete these final work items.  

Traffic Impacts 

 Working hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. 

  • BE ADVISED:  On Saturday, September 12ths crews will work from 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  During this time there will be intermittent lane closures and flagger control from Neighborhood Way / Ember Drive to Pyramid Way.
  • During the week, anticipate rolling lane closures as crews work to complete striping.

MILITARY ROAD CAPACITY AND SAFETY PROJECT

Traffic will be shifted on Military Road to allow for two-way traffic, with one lane in each direction.

PRATER WAY REHABILITATION PROJECT

Starting Tuesday, September 8, crews will begin the pavement reconstruction on the north side of Prater Way between Pyramid Way and Stanford Way. 

During this phase for apporximately 3-weeks:

  • Access to and from the north side of Prater Way to 6th Street, Shrvier Bouelvard, and 1st Street will be closed.
  • Two-way traffic will be maintaine on Prater Way. 
  • Access to 4th Street will remain open. 
  • residential driveways will remain accessible with temporary ramps, except for bried periods when construction equipment is active in the area.

Please use caution, follow posted signs, and allow etra time when traveling through the area.


PYRAMID HIGHWAY OPERATIONS IMPROVEMENTS

September 7 -September 11

Work during the week of 9/7/2026, will generally include construction of drainahe improvements, concrete demolition and roadway improvements.

  • Traffic control impacts will include intermittent shoulder closures in both directions, throughout the project limits (Egyptian Drive to Ingenuity Avenue)
  • A minimum of one paved travel lane will be open in each direction
  • Left turn lanes at all signalized intersections will be open
  • Short traffic delays may occur during this phase of construction
  • Access will be maintained to adjacent properties
    • Temporary driveway closures may occur during certain construction activities; and if so, Q & D will provide notice to impacted properties 18-24 hours prior to start of work
  • Normal working hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday – Friday
  • Vehicles and pedestrians should follow posted detours and proceed with caution throughout the work zone.

SPARKS BOULEVARD CAPACITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT – NORTH PHASE

Construction will continue through June 2027. Project limits are from the intersection of Sparks Boulevard/I-80 westbound ramps to the intersection of Sparks Boulevard/Shadow Lane.

Construction operations will mostly take place from 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the northbound direction and 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the southbound direction, Monday – Friday. Nighttime work and marathon weekend work are anticipated, with traffic control updates communicated in advance of this work.

September 6 – September 12

The community can expect the following traffic control:

Northbound and Southbound Long-Term Closure (24/7 through August 2026)  

  • 24/7 single lane closure Sparks Boulevard between Lincoln Way and Baring Boulevard in the northbound direction.  Closure in effect through September 2026.
  • 24/7 single lane closure Sparks Boulevard between Shadow Lane and Lincoln Way intersections in the southbound direction.  Closure in effect through September 2026. 

Southbound (9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday – Friday) 

  • Free right closed from eastbound Prater Way to southbound Sparks Boulevard.  Truck detour in place.
  • Free right closed from southbound Sparks Boulevard to westbound Prater Way.  Truck detour in place.

Northbound (5:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Monday – Friday) 

  • Free right closed from westbound Prater Way to northbound Sparks Boulevard.  Truck detour in place.
  • Free right closed from northbound Sparks Boulevard to eastbound Prater Way.  Truck detour in place.

Howard Drive Detour:  

  • Howard Drive closed at Sparks Boulevard. A detour is available via Fargo Way to O’Callaghan Drive.

SPARKS BOULEVARD/ION DRIVE TRAFFIC SIGNAL PROJECT

Work Description

Concrete and paving work at the intersection is complete.  Striping to be completed the week of September 7th.  Beginning the following week there wil lbe a pause in work as we wait for signal equipment to arrive.

Trenching operations underway adjacent to Ion Drive from Sparks Boulevard to Los Altos Boulevard.

Traffic Impacts

Working hours for the project are 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Intermittent lane closure in both directions as needed to complete striping operations between Village Meadows Drive / Village Knoll Drive and Cathedral Peak Drive / Oak Hill Drive.

TRAFFIC SIGNAL FIBER 26-01 PROJECT

Work will begin on Monday, August 24th for installation of fiber-optic conduit and cables.  During the day, 21st Street will be closed from Victorian Avenue to Prater Way in all directions.  Local access will be provided.

Lane Closures

Construction continues Monday night to Friday morning from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.  Lanes on S. Virginia Street will be reducied to one lane in each direction from Moana Lane to Hubbard Way.

Gentry Way Intersection

Through traffic on Gentry Way at Virginia Street may be detoured from 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 am.

BRT Stations

Daytime work at the northbound and southbound Bus Rapid Transit stations at McCarran Boulevard and the southbound station at Orchard Plaza is underway.  Shoulder closures are in place at the stations.  Closed stations are temporaily relocated for passenger pickup.  Passengers should follow signage to the nearest available stop.


WEST FOURTH STREET SAFTEY (VINE STREET TO MCCARRAN BOULEVARD) PROJECT

MAJOR CHANGE! The contractor is starting work on the south side of the roadway and traffic will be shifted to new pavement on the north side of the roadway between Summit Ridge Drive and Keyston Aveneu.  In the two-lane area west of Summit Ridge Drive, traffic will be two-way on btoh old and new pavement.  Work is also beginning on the east side of Keystone Avenue between Keystone Avenue and Vine Street.  Lots of activity throughout the corridor as the contractor continues to make progress. Please slow down so everyone goes home safe! 


WHITE FIR STREET REHABILITATION PROJECT
