BUCK DRIVE ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

Work Description

This project will be completed in multiple phases. The next phase will implement final striping. The new signal at North Hills Boulevard and Buck Drive will be installed later this fall.

Traffic Impacts

  • Traffic control will be in place with modified travel patterns.
  • Utilize U-turns for business access.

EAGLE CANYON SAFETY AND OPERATIONS PROJECT

Work Description 

Paving of the shared-use path is complete.  Crews are working to complete asphalt patching in locations where concrete improvements are completed.  Micro-surfacing to take place on Saturday, August 29th.  There will be major traffic disruptions while this work is completed.  

Traffic Impacts 

 Working hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. 

  • On Eagle Canyon Drive, expect shoulder closures and/or lane shifts in both directions from Eagle Canyon Park to Calle De La Plata. This closure includes the bicycle lane, so please remember to use caution and share the road with bicycles. 
  • Travel lanes on Eagle Canyon Drive will be reduced to a single lane in each direction at Richard Springs Boulevard.  
  • Travel lanes on Golden Valley Road will intermittently be reduce to a single lane in each direction near North Valleys High School.
  • On Saturday, August 29th anticipate intermittent full closures in each direction from Calle De La Plata to Ember Drive / Neighborhood Way.  Detours will be provided.

MILITARY ROAD CAPACITY AND SAFETY PROJECT

Traffic will be shifted on Military Road to allow for two-way traffic, with one lane in each direction.

MILL STREET CAPACITY & SAFETY PROJECT

Lane Closures  

Construction is substantially complete and all lanes are open.  Some single lane closures may occur on Mill Street fro Yori Way to Terminal Way to complete minor work items.  Closures on Kietzke Lane in the vicinity may also take place.


PRATER WAY REHABILITATION PROJECT

On Prater Way from Pyramid Way to Stanford Way, lanes will be reduced to one lane in each direction 24/7.


PYRAMID HIGHWAY OPERATIONS IMPROVEMENTS

August 24 – August 28

Work during the week of 8/24/2026, will generally occur within the west-side shoulder of southbound Pyramid Highway.  Work along the east-side shoulder of northbound Pyramid Highway is tentatively scheduled to begin next week.  Activities will generally include: roadway excavation, utility relocations and demolition of existing facilities.

  • Traffic control impacts will include intermittent shoulder closures in both directions, throughout the project limits (Egyptian Drive to Ingenuity Avenue)
  • A minimum of one paved travel lane will be open in each direction
  • Left turn lanes at all signalized intersections will be open
  • Short traffic delays may occur during this phase of construction
  • Access will be maintained to adjacent properties
    • Temporary driveway closures may occur during certain construction activities; and if so, Q & D will provide notice to impacted properties 18-24 hours prior to start of work
  • Normal working hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday – Friday
  • Vehicles and pedestrians should follow posted detours and proceed with caution throughout the work zone.

SPARKS BOULEVARD CAPACITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT – NORTH PHASE

Construction will continue through June 2027. Project limits are from the intersection of Sparks Boulevard/I-80 westbound ramps to the intersection of Sparks Boulevard/Shadow Lane.

Construction operations will mostly take place from 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the northbound direction and 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the southbound direction, Monday – Friday. Nighttime work and marathon weekend work are anticipated, with traffic control updates communicated in advance of this work.

August 23 – August 29

The community can expect the following traffic control:

Northbound and Southbound Long-Term Closure (24/7 through August 2026) 

  • 24/7 single lane closure Sparks Boulevard between Prater Way and the Baring Boulevard intersection in the northbound direction. Closure in effect through August 2026. 
  • 24/7 single lane closure Sparks Boulevard between Shadow Lane and Prater Way intersections in the southbound direction. Closure in effect through August 2026. 
  • 24/7 single lane clusre Sparks Boulevard between Lincoln Way and Prater Way in the northbound direction.  Closure in effect through September 2026.
  • 24/7 single lane closure Sparks Boulevard between Prater Way and Lincoln Way in the southbound direction.  Closure in effect through September 2026. 

Howard Drive Detour:  

  • Howard Drive closed at Sparks Boulevard. A detour is available via Fargo Way to O’Callaghan Drive.

SPARKS BOULEVARD/ION DRIVE TRAFFIC SIGNAL PROJECT

Work Description

Construction will continue through September 2026.  Crews continue work on the Sawgrass Lane approach.  Trenching operations underway adjacent to Ion Drive from Sparks Boulevard to Los Altos Boulevard. There are currently lane restrictions and detours in place so please plan accordingly and use caution in the area.

Traffic Impacts

Working hours for the project are 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • There will be a 24/7 closure of the outside travel lane in the southbound direction. This configuration will be in place until approximately August 7th. Please remember to share the road with bicyclists as the bike lane will be impacted in both directions.

TRAFFIC SIGNAL FIBER 26-01 PROJECT

Work will begin on Monday, August 24thh for installation of fiber-optic conduit and cables.  Flagger control will be in effect at the intersection of Victorian Avenue and 21st Street in all directions.

Lane Closures

Construction continues Sunday nights to Friday mornings from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.  Lanes on S. Virginia STreet will be reducied to one lane in each dirrection from Moana Lane to Hubbard Way.

Gentry Way Intersection

Through traffic on Gentry Way at Virginia Street may be detoured from 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 am.

BRT Stations

Daytime work at the northbound and southbound Bus Rapid Transit stations at McCarran Boulevard and the southbound stations at Orchard Plaza and Mt. Rose Street will occur.  Shoulder closures are in place at the stations.  Closed stations are temporaily relocated for passenger pickup.  Passengers should follow signage to the nearest available stop.


WEST FOURTH STREET SAFTEY (VINE STREET TO MCCARRAN BOULEVARD) PROJECT

MAJOR CHANGE! The contractor is starting work on the south side of the roadway and traffic will be shifted to new pavement on the north side of the roadway between Summit Ridge Drive and Keyston Aveneu.  In the two-lane area west of Summit Ridge Drive, traffic will be two-way on btoh old and new pavement.  Work is also beginning on the east side of Keystone Avenue between Keystone Avenue and Vine Street.  Lots of activity throughout the corridor as the contractor continues to make progress. Please slow down so everyone goes home safe! 


WHITE FIR STREET REHABILITATION PROJECT
